On his first missionary journey Saul and Barnabas sailed to Cyprus. The governor was a man called Sergius. He asked Saul to come and tell him about Jesus.
At this point in the story the Bible tells us that Saul changed his name to Paul so this is the name we will call him by, in the rest of the story.
There was man called Elymas who was a sorcerer. He pretended to cast magic spells. He wanted Sergius to believe in his magic and not in Jesus. Paul said to him, "you are an imposter and a bad man and you pretend to cast magic spells. You will become blind for a time."
It seemed to Elymas that a mist had come over him and he could not see. He had to reach out for someone to lead him by the hand.
When Sergius saw this and heard what Paul had to say he believed and became a Christian.
