Mark came out of the room and one of the nurses spoke to him. We will not be able to start Philip's treatment for about a week. Mr Jones wants you to go back to space school until then.

" How will I get back ?" said Mark. "You are to travel on the new superfast train. One of the hospital porters will take you to the station and make sure you are O.K

When Mark arrived on the platform he was surprised to see that the railway lines looked different. He was even more surprised when the train arrived because it did not seem to have any wheels. One of the other passengers explained that the train was held about 1 centimetre above the rails by magnets.

As the train came to a halt some wheels came down from somewhere underneath.

Mark got on and took out his mobile phone. There was a text message telling him which seat he should sit in. The next text message asked him if he would like anything to eat or drink. A few minutes later by a robot waiter brought a large glass of lemonade.

The train went faster and faster until Mark could not look out of the window without feeling dizzy. By the time Mark had finished his lemonade the train had reached London.  An extra carriage was put on the back of the train.

His mobile phone flashed up a message, "Please move back to the new carriage. It will be part of a train to Inverness."

Mark remembered his Grandmother telling him how difficult train journeys used to be if the train you were on did not go directly to your destination. You used to get off one train and then rush from one platform to another to catch another train.

When Mark got back to Space School Mr Jones came out to meet him.  "I am sorry that you have been having a bad time," he said. Now I have some more news for you. They could do the treatment for you and  Philip in a new hospital on a space station. The treatment could be done more quickly  because there is zero gravity.  When you have had dinner we will get the doctor to talk to you on the video phone."
